Metallogy Microscope

Metallurgical Microscope:

Macro Examination: Examining the surface of the etched or unetched test sample with the naked eye or using optical tools (magnifying glass, stereomicroscope, etc.) with a small magnification ratio (<x20). With this examination, cracks, pores, residues, impenetrations, heat affected zone (HAZ), welding passes, etc. can be determined.

Micro Examination: It is the examination of the surface of the etched or unetched test sample using a metallography microscope with a higher magnification ratio (>x20). With this examination, microstructure determination, grain size, grain orientation, phase precipitations, etc. can be determined.
